Doug Van Riper brings a distinctive blend of real estate, mortgage, finance, construction insight, and business leadership to clients throughout the Southern Pines, Pinehurst, and Moore County area. As a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Advantage, Doug is known for listening first, communicating clearly, and providing steady guidance from the first conversation through closing.

Doug’s real estate roots began in Southern California, where he was inspired by his mother’s successful career as an agent. He became a California real estate broker at age 25, worked as a broker for three years, and later owned and operated a mortgage brokerage firm for five years. Over the past decade, he has also personally bought, renovated, and flipped eight homes—experience that gives him practical perspective for buyers, sellers, investors, and those considering a renovation.

His professional background includes degrees in Finance and Economics, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and two years of law school. Doug’s career has also included leadership roles with American Honda, Hilti, a national staffing company, an accounting software firm, and his own sales outsourcing company. That breadth of experience helps him bring sound judgment, skilled negotiation, and a business-minded approach to every transaction.

Doug and his wife, Julie, are proud to call Moore County home near their children and grandchildren. He stays actively involved in the community through Pooch Park in the Pines, U.S. Kids Golf, and the Golf Capital Chorus, where he serves as a performer, chorus manager, and board member. He also enjoys singing with the Backswing Boys, a local barbershop quartet.
